There is an assumption that astrology only deals with the future: that astrology is used for making predictions, that it's a form of fortune telling or divination...and it is, this is true. But astrology does not place restrictions on time—it can be used to derive both the future and the past, it retrogrades and repeats in recognizable patterns.
I like to use astrology in a way that allows us to remember major and minor events, to review and reexamine our lives, to reason, to resolve, to repair; to recognize the cycles created by the moving planets, and to reflect on how interconnected we are with the universe.
Astrology is a language and that language does not require that we're aware of how it works for it to outline, to direct, and to describe our lives. It is always speaking to us and if we learn to listen, we may receive the message.
As a reader, I translate the language of astrology to share the information, and I try to do it in a way that teaches you to read too-- to understand the symbols, the signs, the cycles and the patterns in the chart and how these play out in your life.

Ancient Hellenistic Astrology

Like most forms of astrology, ancient traditions emphasize the sun, moon, and rising sign of the specific time of birth. However, Hellenistic Astrology also, importantly, considers the “sect” of the chart: being a Day birth or a Night birth, which brings more personalized meanings into the chart and the interpretation. Hellenistic Astrology also, uniquely, uses Whole Sign Houses to denote the various areas of your life.

In Hellenistic traditions, Sect- Day or Night- is the first and for-most interpretive factor in a birth chart. the most benefic, or helpful, planets as well as the most malefic, or harmful/difficult planets in one’s chart depend on whether one was born during the day— when the sun rules, or at night—under the light of the moon.

The most commonly used house system of Hellenistic Astrology is Whole Sign Houses, in which the rising sign becomes the first house- regardless of degree- and the houses proceed in Zodiacal order. While this house system sounds overly simplistic (and it is!), it aids in planetary interpretations in myriad ways.

What really sets Ancient Astrology apart from the rest is the exactitude of their timing techniques. Also known as Time Lord systems, these can provide insight for certain years, months or days in your life— though they can actually give insight down to the minute!
